From the Mountains of the Cordillera de Celaque
In the mountains of Belén Gualcho, smallholder producers cultivate coffee at elevations between 1,650 and 1,750 meters above sea level — among the highest growing altitudes in Honduras. Our farms sit at coordinates 14°27'45.9"N 88°46'28.0"W, within the cloud forest highlands of Ocotepeque department.
These farms grow under a natural canopy of native pine and Inga trees, which protects the coffee plants from excessive sun and allows cherries to mature slowly. This slower maturation contributes to the complex and balanced cup profiles that define coffees from this region.
Café Belén Gualcho represents a collective effort among local farmers to improve quality, strengthen direct relationships with international roasters, and share the unique character of our mountain coffees with the world. While our producers focus on cultivation and careful processing, we also roast a portion of our coffee locally — connecting our community to global coffee culture.
"Our goal is simple: produce exceptional coffee and build lasting relationships with the roasters who share our commitment to quality."
